Dec. 4, 2018 By Laura Hanrahan

Rideshare magnate Lyft announced its yearly citywide awards earlier today for the most visited destinations throughout the five boroughs, with Williamsburg and Bushwick proving to be the city’s most-visited neighborhoods.

The two neighborhoods took home more than half of the seven awards in the 2018 Lyftie Awards, which looks at the most visited destinations like bars, concert venues, brunch spots, and more in New York City.

Elsewhere, a live music venue, club and art space at 599 Johnson Ave., was the most visited bar in 2018, according to Lyft. The Bushwick venue replaces last year’s winner, the neighboring House of Yes.

Bushwick, known for its colorful graffiti street art, plethora of local restaurants and wide variety of entertainment choices, was also named as the city’s most visited late night neighborhood.

When it came to the city’s most visited restaurants, Williamsburg took home the awards—at least partially—for both the most popular brunch and late night spots.

Smorgasburg, the weekly food festival held seasonally in East River State Park and Prospect Park, earned the title of most visited brunch spot.

Freehold, a cafe and bar serving gastropub fare located on S 3rd Street, won Lyft’s most visited late-night restaurant award.

Outside of Brooklyn, The Metropolitan Museum of Art was named as the most-visited tourist destination, unseating last year’s winner Katz’s Delicatessen.

In Queens, Forest Hills Stadium took the title of most popular concert venue, beating out last year’s winner—Madison Square Garden.

Planet Fitness, an affordable gym chain with locations throughout the city, was named as the most visited fitness studio citywide.

The rideshare company has awarded “Lyfties” for the past four years to 45 cities across the country where it operates.
