March 6, 2019 Staff Report

Police are still searching for two suspects who attacked a pair of teenagers and stole from them in Williamsburg after agreeing to meet in person to buy clothing back in January.

The two male victims, 15 and 16-year-olds, agreed to meet the two unknown males, who wanted to purchase clothing seen in an online ad, by South 9th Street and Kent Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 28, police said.

But rather than make the transaction, the two thieves began to punch the victims about the head and torso when they arrived at the site, and stole the clothing worth an estimated $450.

The two were last seen fleeing north on Berry Street, according to police. The victims refused medical attention at the scene.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic, in their late teens or early 20s, and wearing all dark clothing.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-8477, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.
