Sugar and Spice, a festive holiday pop-up museum, will bring an interactive world of Christmas-themed sights, sounds and smells to Williamsburg this weekend.
The museum will open on Dec. 1 at 58 South 6th St., where visitors can take a walk down the piano hallway, step into a winter wonderland in the life-sized snow globe, or gift wrap themselves in a giant gift box—all while surrounded by the smell of freshly baked gingerbread cookies.
The hot cocoa ball pit, oversized teddy bears and huggable cookie pillows are sure to be a hit with the museum’s younger visitors.
The Sugar and Spice pop up is the brainchild of Maira Choudhary and Renata Rowland, two Fordham University seniors who were inspired to create the museum partly because of the ever-growing number of pop-ups throughout the city, coupled with their love for the holidays.
“We are simply two young women who share a vision for creativity and believe that anyone should be able to follow their dreams and take the same chance we have,” Choudhary said.
The duo are hoping to be able to bring the museum back for years to come if their pop up proves successful.
