Search Continues for Missing East Williamsburg Man Last Seen 2 Weeks Ago: NYPD

Police are continuing to search for an East Williamsburg man who has been missing since late last month.

James Johnston, 31, was last seen around 11 p.m. on Jan. 29, inside his Morgan Avenue apartment.

Johnston is described as Asian with black hair and brown eyes, approximately 5 feet 8 inches in height and weighs around 200 pounds. He has a large burn scar above his elbow.

Johnston’s family and friends have taken to social media in the days following his disappearance to urge for any help locating him. The posts have gained significant traction, with a Feb. 1 post by his mother receiving more than 1,300 shares.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).

Under construction near the waterfront, the 381-unit building at 16 Dupont St. is part of Greenpoint Landing, the 22-acre, 10-building complex made possible by the 2005 Greenpoint-Williamsburg rezoning.
