Off-Duty Firefighter Arrested For Allegedly Choking Ex in East Williamsburg: NYPD

An off-duty FDNY firefighter was arrested on Monday after allegedly choking his ex-girlfriend, according to published reports.

Ernest McCoy, 47, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. yesterday after getting into an argument with the victim in an East Williamsburg apartment and putting his hands around her neck, police say.

The victim, according to the Daily News, was his ex-girlfriend.

The victim, whose age was not provided, did not lose consciousness, and it is not known if she went to the hospital for treatment.

McCoy was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing.
