The suspect wanted in connection to a Greenpoint stabbing that led to the death of George Carroll, a local from the neighborhood, is in custody, according to police.
“The suspect wanted in the homicide that occurred in McGolrick Park is in custody,” reads a tweet published at 2:19 pm on Aug. 31 by the NYPD 94th Precinct.
Police sources say Gary Correa, the 19-year-old suspect, was apprehended today at around 1pm at Norman Avenue between Dobbin Street and Guernsey Street, one block away from McCarren Park and blocks away from McGolrick Park.
He has not been charged as of 4:00 p.m. Thursday, police sources said.
Correa was identified as a suspect by police days after the death of Carroll, 42, who was walking with his wife on Aug. 18 when he was stabbed on Monitor Street across McGolrick Park.

According to NY Daily News this guy has an arrest record for robbery assault and drugs.,It sounds like he should have been taken off the streets long ago.At least now the family of Mr. Carroll can get some justice.
