Three new apartments in a newly-constructed Williamsburg building are now up for grabs through the city’s affordable housing lottery, but to qualify you must make at least $77,246 a year.
Three one-bedroom units are available in a building at 219 South 3rd St, steps away from the Williamsburg Bridge and each are priced at $2,253 a month.
The building boasts a roof deck, laundry room, bike storage and additional storage face. Two of the three rooms even have their own private balcony.
However, in order to qualify for the lottery, you must make at least $77,246 whether a single, couple, or three-person household. The units are open to households of two to three people and the combined income of a three person income cannot exceed $12,930.

The apartment is close to M, J and Z trains at the Marcy Avenue station, as well as B24, B39 and B62 buses.
In addition to rent, tenants are responsible for the gas, electric and water bills.
While the units are given out to eligible applicants through a lottery, some preference is given to applicants with vision, mobility and hearing disabilities.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 30, 2019.

Affordable housing lol, needed a good laugh! What’s so affordable about it! LMAO
This has been going on for some years now. They call “affordable” if you earn $75-100,000 per year. No wonder people are leaving NYC in droves, what do the majority of us who are middle income do? Scam, Scam, SCAM!!!
disgrace the prices
What’s affordable about this? $2,253 for a one bedroom plus having to pay for the water? What a joke!
I work in this field and it all seems like an insane scam. Affordable housing is in no way affordable unless you are lucky enough to get a subsidy
It’s affordable if it’s priced below the market rate. Can you find comparable apartment in the same location for the same price or less?
