A motorcyclist was fatally struck by a NYPD vehicle in Williamsburg last night.

The rider, 37, was struck at the intersection of Metropolitan and Driggs Avenues at around 9:30 p.m. by an NYPD vehicle that was responding to shots fired near Metropolitan and Wythe Avenues.

The police vehicle was traveling westbound on Metropolitan Avenue—with its emergency lights and sirens on—when it collided with the motorcyclist who was traveling southbound on Driggs Avenue, according to police.

EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
