A resident of Cooper Houses was shot and killed outside of the East Williamsburg NYCHA complex over the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday June 22, just after 2:30 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man shot in front of the 295 Jackson Ave. building. When officers from the 94 Precinct arrived, they found 27-year-old Jonathan Ramos with gunshot wounds to the torso.

EMS responded to the scene and transported Ramos to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The New York Daily News reported that witnesses observed Ramos and another man arguing just before he was shot, and that narcotics were found in the vicinity of the shooting.

Police have made no arrests in the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.
