Police are searching for a group of men wanted in connection with an anti-semitic attack that took place in Williamsburg over the weekend—the second anti-semitic assault reported in the past week.
On Saturday May 4, around 1:15 a.m., the four men allegedly approached a 42-year-old man, who was wearing traditional religious attire, walking westbound on Broadway. The four unidentified suspects then assaulted him while making anti-Semitic slurs, according to police. They then fled the scene, heading eastbound on Broadway.
The victim sustained swelling and bruising to his face, but did not seek medical attention, police said.
The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident.
Three of the suspects are described as Hispanic, in their early 20s, and were wearing all black. The fourth suspect is described as black, also in his early 20s, and was wearing a black du-rag and grey sweatsuit.
The incident is one of two anti-semitic attacks to have been reported in the Williamsburg area within the last week. On Tuesday, a Jewish man was punched in the head while walking near Rodney Street and Marcy Avenue.
