Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez revealed Monday that she has a presumed case of COVID-19 and has self-quarantined.
The lawmaker, who represents New York’s 7th District, said she began feeling ill on Sunday morning and sought treatment from her physician.
She was diagnosed with a presumed coronavirus infection after consulting with her doctor over the phone.
“I developed the abrupt onset of muscle aches, fevers, nasal congestion and stomach upset,” she said in a tweet. “I noticed that I could no longer smell my perfume or taste my food,” she said.
Velazquez said her symptoms are mild and she is taking precautions by isolating herself at her home and taking Tylenol for fever.
“At the advice of the attending physician, neither COVID-19 laboratory testing nor a doctor’s office visit was recommended,” she said.
Velazquez said she will continue to work from home and is in regular contact with her staff.
She appealed to people to stay at home and continue practicing social distancing.
I have been diagnosed with presumed coronavirus infection. My symptoms are mild. I am isolating myself at my home and following the guidance of the Office of Attending Physician.

When someone has the Sudden onset of High Fever, Muscle aches and Difficulty breathing it’s “Presumed” to be Covid-19, because there’s No Affirmative Test Results.
Due to the Lack of Test Kits, Thanks to the Lack of Leadership from Trump!!
