Burglars Break into Bernie’s Restaurant Using a Crowbar

Police are searching for two burglars wanted for breaking into Greenpoint restaurant Bernie’s last month.

On May 18, around 4 a.m., the two suspect used a crowbar to break in through the side door of the restaurant, located on the corner of Lorimer Street and Driggs Avenue, across from McCarren Park.

Once inside, the burglars stole an undetermined amount of cash from the register and then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Both suspects are men, and were last seen wearing dark colored clothing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the 94 Precinct Detective Squad at 718-383-8545 or 800-577-TIPS to remain anonymous.

I honestly feel bad for these guys gentrification is pushing them out of the neighborhood and they must be dealing with a lot of stress. Let them have some cash to help make ends meet.

amazing they keep lots of cash in the bar, but cant afford a decent low light camera and motion detector lighting to make it easy to catch the thugs….guess they are smarter then we think.
