Some lucky Brooklynites will go home with a free bike as part of a new campaign ahead of the L train shutdown.
The bike give-away, sponsored by SpikedSeltzer, began yesterday at 96 Wythe Ave., and will go until Aug. 30. The first 20 people aged 21 and over to show up at the site, marked by a “Pour Some Out For The L” billboard, will go home with a free bike after showing proof of Brooklyn residency.
The give-away hours for the brand-inspired blue and white bikes (cruisers of three varieties) are between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The hard-seltzer company will even give out moving boxes to Brooklyn residents who are thinking of packing up because of the upcoming shutdown. The moving box comes with a code for $5.00 off your first order from Drizly, the alcohol E-commerce platform.
“There’s no question that the impending shutdown has stirred anxiety in the borough,” said Chelsea Phillips, Vice President of Beyond Beer Brands at Anheuser-Busch, in a statement. “As the Tri-State Area’s hard seltzer brand, we want to help ease locals’ L Train woes by giving them the initial tools they’ll need to stay or go.”
