Bed-Stuy Man Arrested for Greenpoint Robbery; Suspected of 12 Others Across the City: NYPD

Brandon McDonald (NYPD)

Oct. 15, 2019 By Allie Griffin

Police have caught a Bedford Stuyvesant man who is suspected of committing a string of 13 crimes throughout the city in August, where he and an accomplice stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and phones and even a Ford mustang.

Police arrested Brandon McDonald, 32, yesterday for one of the 13 incidents, an Aug. 9 robbery in Greenpoint.

According to police, McDonald and an unidentified man held a 25-year-old woman at gunpoint and demanded she hand over her property in front of 75 Kingsland Ave. The duo took off with the woman’s purse, which was valued at about $2,372.

McDonald is one of two suspects in a dozen other August robberies or attempted robberies throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Police have not released the name of the second suspect.

The pair is accused of stealing more than $60,000 worth of jewelry, credit cards, cash and other possessions and a red Ford mustang, which police say they later used as a getaway car in subsequent robberies.

In the 13 robberies from Aug. 1 through Aug. 17, McDonald and his partner often used a gun or pretended to have one to get victims to hand over their belongings, according to police. The pair often struck several times in one day, sometimes coming up empty-handed, but other times snagging thousands of dollars of loot in one go.

In the first incident police reported on Aug 1, the pair allegedly stole a red Ford Mustang, cash and credit cards in Crown Heights. In later muggings, they used the Mustang to flee the scene of their crimes, police said.

In just three separate incidents, the pair stole tens of thousands in jewelry and phones. On Aug. 3, they stole $24,000 worth of jewelry from a 27-year-old man in Long Island City near 9th Street and Queens Plaza South. Three days later on Aug. 6, the pair struck again, this time on Seventh Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan and stole $15,000 worth of jewelry and a cell phone from a 40-year-old man. Again on Aug. 17 in Manhattan, the pair stole $21,000 worth of jewelry and cell phone from three men.

Police are still searching for the second suspect and told the New York Post that the NYPD expects additional charges to be brought against McDonald in connection to the other dozen crimes as the victims ID him as the suspect.

So if a progressive lefty hipster gets robbed by this guy. How do they spin it so they can still blame the white man.

Wait, is anyone blaming "the white man" in this incident?

No? Maybe save the “poor, poor white man” rant for a different article.
