A pair of rock climbing gyms are slated to open in Greenpoint and Williamsburg in the first half of next year.

Vital Climbing Gym is anticipated to open at 1 Nassau Ave. in March 2020, while MetroRock is expected to open its second Brooklyn location at the newly-constructed “Dime Building” at 263 South 5th St. in June.

Vital Climbing Gym will open its fifth location when it opens on Nassau Avenue next spring. The company currently operate three locations in California and one in the state of Washington.

The building at 1 Nassau Ave. near McCarren Park is currently undergoing construction.

Vital Climbing Gym will offer bouldering, a type of rock climbing performed on artificial rock walls, in the new location, but no rope climbing. Vital will operate a 45,000 square foot location and offer members a 24-hour service.

The rock climbing center will also offer training areas, yoga classes, spin classes and youth classes among other programs.

Derek Jetzke, General Manager of Vital Climbing Brooklyn, said that the company also plans to operate a restaurant on the building’s rooftop.

Vital has not yet finalized pricing or hours of operation, Jetzke said.

MetroRock, meanwhile, is set to open its second Brooklyn location next year. It currently operates five locations, including three in Massachusetts, one in Vermont and one in Bushwick.

The new location at the Dime Building, a 23-story development, will offer bouldering and a fitness center. Like Vital, the climbing gym won’t feature any rope climbing. .

The 10,000 square foot location will be open from 7 a.m. until midnight Monday thru Friday and from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Membership will cost $125 per month, while individual day passes cost $30.
