A 26-year-old man is dead following a three-car collision in Williamsburg early Wednesday.

Alexander Ulloa-Toribio, who lived near the scene of the crash, was killed in a three-car pile-up when his Honda Odyssey crashed into a tree on Grand Street near Manhattan Avenue at 1:10 a.m., police said.

The crash took place after a rear tire blew on a BMW SUV and the driver lost control while traveling westbound on Grand Street, police said. The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic in the eastbound lane and struck Ulloa-Toribio’s vehicle.

The BMW, driven by a 30-year-old man, then hit another car, a red Honda Element, police said. The BMW and Honda Element both came to a stop, but Ulloa-Toribio’s vehicle slammed into a tree.

First responders found Ulloa-Toribio unconscious and unresponsive with severe body trauma. EMS rushed him to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 30-year-old driver of the BMW and his 30-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and were brought to Bellevue Hospital where they were treated and released.

The 34-year-old driver of the Honda Element refused medical attention.

Police said there are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

I always see guys like this zooming through the highway at high speeds. All it takes is one slip up and they will be remembering you instead of celebrating with you. Thank goodness those other folks and the tree will be alright.

A late 19th-century Romanesque Revival church in Prospect Heights, not far from Barclays Center, could soon become residential apartments if the city greenlights a planned conversion.
