Police are searching for a young man wanted for the assault of a Jewish man in Williamsburg last week.
On May 7, around 7:03 p.m., the 39-year-old victim, who was wearing Orthodox Jewish clothing, was walking near Rodney Street and Marcy Avenue when he was approached from behind by the unidentified suspect. The assailant ran up to the victim and punched him once in the head, causing him to stumble forward, video surveillance footage shows. The suspect then fled the scene on foot.

EMS responded to the scene and treated the victim for pain to his head and face, and ringing in his ear, police said.
The incident is currently being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit.
The suspect is described as black and between 15 and 18 years old. He is seen wearing black pants, black sneakers and a grey hooded sweatshirt, and is carrying a blue backpack.
The Williamsburg area has seen several physical attacks on Jewish individuals in recent months. In November, a 9-year-old Jewish boy was repeatedly punched at the corner of Throop Avenue and Walton Street. Five days later, a Hasidic Jewish man punched in the head by an unknown assailant just one block away from the previous attack.
