Cops Look for Thief who Stole Jeep in East Williamsburg

Police are searching for a man wanted for a car theft that took place in East Williamsburg earlier this month.

On March 3, around 9 a.m., the unknown suspect stole a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that was parked on the road near Beadel Street and Porter Avenue. The owner of the car, a 52-year-old man, had left the vehicle unlocked.

The thief then headed off with the vehicle in an unknown direction.

The suspect, seen in stills from security camera footage, is shown wearing grey sweatpants, a red, white and black jacket, and a white hat. He is also seen carrying a black backpack.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the 94th Precinct Detective Squad at 718-383-8545 or 800-577-TIPS to remain anonymous.
