Man Attacks, Attempts to Rape Woman After Following Her Into Williamsburg Apartment: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to rape a woman in a Williamsburg apartment earlier this week.

The victim, a 42-year-old woman, was followed by her attacker as she went inside an apartment by Berry Street and South 10th Street at around 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 3.

The attacker placed his hand over her mouth and attempted to sexually assault her, police say, but the victim was able to resist.

The man then escaped, and fled toward Berry Street before reaching Broadway.

The 42-year-old woman was not injured, and did not go to the hospital, police say.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, weighing between 160 pounds to 170 pounds, and with a height of 5 feet 9 inches. He has a slim build, close cut hair, and was last seen wearing blue jeans and black sneakers, a baseball hat, and a cross body bag.
