93-Year-Old Williamsburg Woman Reported Missing: NYPD

Police are searching for an elderly woman who went missing yesterday.

Merlene Humphrey, 93, was last seen at her apartment building about a block away from Sternberg Park just after 10 a.m. on Aug. 23, police say.

Humphrey was also seen in elevator surveillance video from her building, and using her walker to step out.

Humphrey is described as a black female, measuring 5 feet 1 inch, and weighing 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue hat, blue shit, brown pants, and sandals.

Police have issued a Silver Alert in Humphrey’s case, and say she has dementia. There have been no updates on the case as of this morning, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Anyone with information in regards to this missing is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
