Man Steals More Than $400 From Williamsburg Chicken Express and Employee: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole wads of cash from a fried chicken spot and its employee in Williamsburg on Sunday.

The man went up to a 32-year-old male employee at Chicken Express, located at 582 Broadway, at around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 12 and demanded money while faking that he had a gun under his shirt, police say.

The worker complied and the suspect took $80 from the cash register, $150 from an unsecured lock box and $180 from the employee’s wallet, netting a total of $410, according to police.

The thief fled on foot westbound on Broadway.

The suspect is described as bald, black, between 35 to 45 years old, and weighing 220 pounds. He is between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 4 inches, and was last seen wearing an orange football jersey with the number 90 on it, black pants, and white, gray, and red sneakers.
