Man Repeatedly Punches 24-Year-Old on Greenpoint Street, Steals His Phone: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who attacked a 24-year-old on a Greenpoint street and stole his phone last week.

The 24-year-male victim was walking on the southeast corner of Graham Avenue and Meeker Avenue on May 23 when the thief came from behind and punched him several times around his head and body just after 4 p.m., police say.

The thief then stole the 24-year-old’s cell phone and fled toward the Graham Avenue subway station, according to police.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, with a light complexion with dark hair pulled back into a ponytail, and last seen wearing a dark jacket with a light gray hoodie.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
