Man Steals Over $2,300 in Belongings From Unlocked Williamsburg Apartment, Police Say

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole more than $2,300 worth of items from a Williamsburg apartment two weeks ago.

The burglary happened on Dec. 29 at around 2:40 p.m., when a man entered a multi-unit apartment building close to Havemeyer Street and Hope Street, police said.

The thief then made his way to a unit through its unlocked front door and stole several items, including a snowboard, boots, a GoPro, luggage, and Nike sneakers, police said.

The combined value of the items, belonging to the 32-year-old occupant of the unit, is $2,350, according to police. The victim was not home at the time of the burglary.

The suspect, described by police as white, is seen in surveillance video rolling a piece of luggage and a long enclosed item to the building’s exit.
