Plans Filed For 6-Story Corner Building on Meeker Avenue, Off BQE

Site of new building with an address of 68 North Henry St. (NYC Planning)

Jan. 2, 2018 By Nathaly Pesantez

Permits have been filed for a new six-story building at the corner of North Henry Street and Meeker Avenue in Greenpoint.

The new building, with an address of 68 North Henry Street, will rise to 70 feet and hold seven dwelling units in 7,657 square-feet of space from the second floor upward. Floors two through four will have two units, while a single unit will take up the fifth and sixth floor of the building.

A community facility with 2,116 square-feet of space is also proposed for the building’s first floor. The space may be occupied by medical offices, according to building records.

The existing two-story building and adjacent one story garage would have to be demolished to make way for the new project. Demolition permits for the one-story garage were filed in April.

Biz Designs, an architecture firm based in Brooklyn, is in charge of the new building’s design.

The owner of the site and Biz Designs did not respond to inquiries on the planned development.
