Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole more than $1,000 from a Chinese restaurant in Greenpoint just before Christmas.
The burglary happened on Dec. 24 at around 10:15 p.m., when the thief used an unknown object to pry open the front door at the Pecking Express restaurant at 237 Nassau Ave, police said.
The thief then moved to cash register and stole $1,200 before fleeing through the restaurant’s side door, according to police.
The suspect, seen in a photo and video released by the NYPD, is described as black and approximately 30 to 40 years of age. He was last seen wearing a cap and a hooded sweatshirt with writing on the sleeve.
