Plans for a 33 story story tower along the Greenpoint waterfront have been filed, making for a third building by the same developer going up on West Street.
The mixed use building, planned to go up in the lot on West Street between Quay and Oak Streets, will rise to 290 feet and bring over 400 dwelling units, commercial space, a waterfront yard, and private swimming pools to the area.
From the second floor onward, 410 units will be spread out over 362,979 square feet of space. Between seven and 31 units will take up each floor, with top floors taking up less units than the lower levels. Some units will feature private terraces on their floors.
The building is stacked with resident amenities, which include recreation spaces on multiple floors, a lap pool and a kiddie pool on the seventh floor, an outdoor pool on the 10th floor, and enclosed parking for 369 cars.
Retail space totaling 3,629 square-feet has been reserved for the building’s ground level. A waterfront yard totaling 40 feet is also planned for the site.
The 366,608 square-foot building, designed by SLCE Architects, makes for the third building filed by Halcyon Management for the lot. The first building plans, filed in 2015, draw out a 19-story mixed used building with 234 units and a 400 foot waterfront yard. Plans for a second building, filed in September, call for a 14 story building with 92 units.
The newest building will have an address of 65 Private Drive, while the first and second building have addresses of 29 and 37 West St., respectively.
Permits for excavation and foundation work were filed for the second building in October, and in 2015 for the first tower.
The lot was once home to a two-story, 77,000 square-foot warehouse, and near the site of the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse fire of 2006 that consumed 10 surrounding buildings.
The developer did not immediately respond to questions on the waterfront project.
