Man steals woman’s purse at a N 9th Street house party, uses her credit card at bagel shop

A woman’s purse was stolen from a house party by a man who then used one of her cards at a nearby bagel shop, according to police.

A 29-year-old woman was at a party near Bedford Avenue and North 9th Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. on April 15 when a man went inside a bedroom where her purse was and left with it.

At 2:00 a.m. the next day, the man used one of the victim’s credit cards to make a $30 purchase in the Bagelsmith Shop on 189 Bedford Avenue.

The NYPD has released surveillance photo of the male they are seeking to identify for questioning.

He is described as black, approximately 5’11”, and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater with black jeans and black and red sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this missing is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
